Duck Nukem was created for three reasons: I wanted to generate some interest in the engine modding scene by keeping the theme lighthearted, I wanted to create a repository for the test results created while learning how to make custom monsters for the Doom 3 engine, and most importantly, to meet the deadline I set for the project's release date (thus, there was time management to consider). As a one man operation with a bit of spare time, this mod release is what I was able to get accomplished in the time I allotted for it. Consider this version of Duck Nukem an alpha, with the full story and layout in place. The story is you are retired action movie star Duck Nukem, best known for the "Fly Hard" action movie series. You retired to a cabin in the woods. During your isolation, a bird flu epidemic killed most of the world's human population and wasn't showing signs of slowing down. Being God needed worshippers to exist, He decided to send his Army to Earth to kill all the birds. Your job, as Duck Nukem, is to get to Heaven and stop the birdicide. Allow me another 6 months to pretty up this version and optimize it for kick-ass gameplay, or allow a team to work at it for a couple of months, and the world could very well end up with another video game classic.
